According to the latest report from various districts of Foshan City, Guangdong Province this afternoon, since the first imported case of chikungunya fever was detected on July 8, as of July 22, Foshan City has reported confirmed cases of chikungunya fever in 5 districts, with a total of 3195 confirmed cases, mainly concentrated in Shunde District. Chikungunya fever is a mosquito-borne infectious disease caused by the chikungunya virus and transmitted through Aedes mosquitoes, commonly known as "tiger mosquitoes". Currently, 119 countries and regions worldwide have reported local transmission, with large-scale outbreaks and sporadic cases mainly occurring in the Americas, Asia, and Africa.
