The General Office of the People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality issued the "Guangzhou Sports Strong City Construction Plan", which proposed that by 2030, the construction of a strong sports city will reach a leading level in the country, with a significant increase in the sense of achievement and happiness of citizens participating in sports, and a significant increase in the overall strength and international influence of sports. A higher-level national fitness public service system will be established, with the proportion of people regularly participating in sports reaching over 40%, and the per capita sports venue area reaching 2.9 square meters; the competitiveness of competitive sports will be further improved, with international and domestic competition results remaining at the forefront of similar cities in the country; the integration and development of sports and education will continue to be optimized; the value added of the sports industry as a percentage of GDP will reach 2.2%, cultivating and forming 1-2 billion-level sports industry clusters; sports will become an important business card for promoting the core socialist values and the spirit of Guangzhou city.
