Asian markets open with a slight drop in gold prices due to a series of trade agreements being reached.
The price of gold fell slightly in early Asian trading, as a series of trade agreements reaching could weaken the safe-haven appeal of gold. Spot gold fell 0.1% to $3,428.36 per ounce. US President Trump announced a "massive" trade agreement with Japan on Truth Social on Tuesday night local time. The US will impose a 15% tariff on imported goods from Japan, lower than the 25% tariff rate he had previously threatened to impose. In return, Japan will open its market to more US goods and invest $550 billion in the US. Before Trump announced this news, the US had already reached trade agreements with the Philippines and Indonesia.
