U.S. Treasury bonds rose on Tuesday, pushing yields on various maturities to their lowest levels in over a week. This trend lacked fundamental catalysts, but was boosted by positive technical signals, such as the 10-year Treasury yield falling below the 200-day moving average for the first time since July 2nd. Bullish trades in U.S. Treasury futures and options also contributed to the momentum. As of 3:00 PM New York time, yields on Treasuries of various maturities fell by 3-5 basis points; the 10-year Treasury yield dropped by more than 4 basis points to 4.33%, the lowest level since July 10th, while the 2-year yield touched its lowest level since July 3rd.
