Electric car sales in the United States dropped in the second quarter, but not all car manufacturers are experiencing declines.
According to data from Cox Automotive, Americans purchased 310,800 electric cars in the second quarter of this year, a 6.3% decrease from the same period last year. However, the decrease in sales - 21,000 cars - is almost equivalent to the decline in sales of Tesla. Tesla has been the market leader for a long time, and the actions of its CEO have sparked strong opposition from a large number of potential buyers. Currently, for every three cars sold by General Motors, one is an electric car, and there are a total of 12 pure electric cars in the United States, accounting for 15% of the electric car market in the country. CEO Mary Barra stated that profitable electric car sales are the company's "North Star", and General Motors seems to have solved the affordability issue of electric cars, such as the Chevrolet Equinox electric car, starting at $33,600.
