Due to the rapid transformation of the Chinese automobile industry, Mitsubishi Motors has terminated its joint venture partnership with Aerospace Mitsubishi.

Mitsubishi Motors announced on July 22nd that it would terminate its joint venture partnership with Shenyang Aerospace Mitsubishi Motors Engine Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and cease operations in the engine business of the company. Shenyang Aerospace Mitsubishi Motors was established in August 1997 and began engine production in 1998, supplying engines to Mitsubishi brand car manufacturers and many Chinese car manufacturers. Mitsubishi Motors stated that, in light of the rapid transformation of the Chinese automotive industry, it has re-evaluated its strategy for the region and decided to terminate its involvement in the joint venture.
