This afternoon, the 330 kV Yushu Second Loop Line Project in Qinghai Province was officially put into operation. With this, all cities and prefectures in Qinghai Province have achieved dual-loop power supply for the 330 kV grid. Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is located in the Three Rivers Source Area of Qinghai Province. The Yushu Second Loop Line Project has a total length of 50.75 kilometers, with a total investment of 1.28 billion yuan. There are a total of 1134 iron towers along the line, with an average altitude of over 4200 meters. The project had to pass through grasslands, snow mountains, swamps, uninhabited areas, and other complex terrains during construction. After nearly two years of hard work, more than 12,000 construction personnel completed the project and it was put into operation today. It is understood that the 330 kV Yushu First Loop Line was put into operation in 2013, ending the long history of Yushu's power shortage and isolated power operation. With the continuous development of Yushu's economy and society in recent years, the local demand for electricity has been increasing rapidly. In order to fundamentally improve the reliability and capacity of power supply and meet the electricity needs of local residents, the Yushu Second Loop Line Project was started in August 2023. The Qinghai 330 kV Yushu Second Loop Line Project is a major project for the economic and social development of Tibetan autonomous prefectures and counties during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. After its operation, it will establish a interconnected "dual-loop" power supply between the Yushu power grid and the main Qinghai power grid, completely solving the problem of long-chain single-loop power supply in Yushu, significantly improving the reliability of power supply, and benefiting more than 400,000 pastoral residents in the area.
