Latest report on distributed databases in China: OceanBase ranks first in two categories in the local deployment market.

Recently, IDC released the report "Tracking the Market of Distributed Transaction Database Software in China in the Second Half of 2024". The report shows that OceanBase holds a market share of 21.2% in the local deployment market of distributed transactional databases in China, ranking first in the market. This is the first time OceanBase has topped the overall market for local deployment. In addition, IDC's report "Market Share of Distributed Transaction Database in the Chinese Financial Industry, 2024: Industry Enters the Second Half" shows that OceanBase ranks first in the financial industry for local deployment with a market share of 23.9%. IDC pointed out in the report that by 2024, distributed database products and technologies have gradually matured and have been widely used in industries such as finance, telecommunications, and the Internet, with product applications entering a stage of scalability. In the future, the procurement and implementation of local deployment distributed transaction databases are expected to accelerate significantly. It is predicted that starting from 2025, the growth rate of the local deployment distributed database software market will surpass that of the public cloud market.
