Major breakthrough achieved in shale gas exploration in Hubei Province, with initial estimates indicating an increase of nearly 500 billion cubic meters in reserves.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, there is recent good news from a provincial geological exploration fund project undertaken by the Seventh Geological Brigade of the Hubei Provincial Geological Bureau. Shale gas was discovered in the Permian strata in the Lichuan-Zhonglu area, with an initial estimate of adding nearly 500 billion cubic meters of new resources.
