Recently, the Yunnan Provincial Emergency Management Department announced the natural disaster situation in the second quarter of 2025 throughout the province, mentioning that 4 people died in wild elephant attacks. From April to June, natural disasters in Yunnan Province were mainly floods, wind and hail disasters, with varying degrees of drought, earthquakes, geological disasters, low-temperature freezing, and biological disasters occurring, causing 1.8261 million people in 121 counties in 16 prefectures to be affected to varying degrees. There were 14 deaths or disappearances due to disasters, and 6532 people were urgently relocated and resettled. The affected area of crops was 147.94 thousand hectares, with 10.20 thousand hectares completely destroyed. 339 houses collapsed, 868 were severely damaged, and 2161 were moderately damaged. The direct economic loss was 4.115 billion yuan.
