Hunan Shimen County reports that "high school admission notices have been mixed with advertising flyers": The school principal involved has been interviewed.
Recently, it was reported online that the inclusion of advertisements in high school admission letters in Shimen County, Hunan Province has attracted attention. On July 21, the Education Bureau of Shimen County, Changde, Hunan, issued a situation report: after verification, it was found that none of the high schools in our county had included any promotional materials in the sealed admission letters. Among the middle schools, only one town middle school distributed admission letters to 34 students, along with a promotional flyer from a glasses store outside the sealed admission letters. The specific situation was that Jingmao Glasses Store offered a discount flyer to students who were admitted to County High School No. 1 and No. 2 from Zaoshi Town Central School. The school distributed the discount flyer along with the admission letter, and it was an additional attachment, not included in the sealed admission letter. Our bureau has interviewed the responsible person from the school, and will handle the matter in accordance with regulations. At the same time, we require all schools in the county to strengthen management in the future, strictly follow the rules, and resolutely prevent similar incidents from happening again.
