African stock market closing report | South Africa's stock index rose more than 1.1%, while Nigeria continued to set new record highs at the close.
On Monday, the South African FTSE/JSE Africa Top 40 Tradable Index closed up 1.13% at 91999.68 points, continuing to reach a new record high. It briefly rose above 92000 points during the trading session, with a cumulative increase of 3.03% over the past three trading days. The Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index closed up 0.18%, also setting a new record high. The Mauritius Stock Exchange SEMDEX Index fell by 0.19%, while the Nairobi Securities Exchange All-Share Index rose by 0.44%.
