Reporters learned today that the revised national standard "Safety Use Period and Recycling Regulations for Household and Similar Electrical Appliances" will be officially implemented on January 1, 2026. This standard focuses on the safety risks caused by the prolonged service life of old household appliances and the environmental pollution risks caused by improper disposal of waste household appliances. By specifying the safety use period and recycling technology requirements for household appliances, it aims to build a comprehensive product management system throughout the entire chain. After the implementation of the standard, it will help promote the transformation of China's household appliance quality and safety management mode from "post-supervision" to "full-cycle prevention and control", connecting production, consumption, and recycling, and providing an operational path for building a green, low-carbon circular economy system. At the same time, it will help guide consumers to establish a scientific and safe consumption concept, make consumers pay more attention to the service life of household appliances, and avoid the safety risks of using products beyond their service life.
