An Lusheng, deputy director of the National Railway Administration, stated that during the 14th Five-Year Plan, national railway freight transportation will exceed 25 billion tons, an increase of more than 5 billion tons compared to the 13th Five-Year Plan. High-speed rail freight has already been normalized. Currently, the National Railway Administration is formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for railway development, which will focus on improving the railway network, enhancing commuter efficiency in urban clusters and metropolitan areas, reducing railway logistics costs, and promoting better meeting the growing needs of passenger travel and freight transportation.
