Affected by Typhoon "Weipa", Jiangmen City in Guangdong Province will upgrade its wind prevention emergency response to Level III.

Typhoon "Wipha", the sixth typhoon of the year, was located at 20:00 on July 18th in the ocean about 1050 kilometers southeast of Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, with maximum winds near the center reaching force 8. It is expected that "Wipha" will move in a west-northwest direction at a speed of 20-25 kilometers per hour, entering the northern part of the South China Sea on the morning of July 19th, gradually approaching the coast from Shenzhen to Wenchang, Hainan, with increasing intensity, and is expected to make landfall on the aforementioned coast in the afternoon or evening of July 20th. According to the emergency plan for flood prevention, drought prevention, wind prevention, and frost prevention in Jiangmen City, the flood prevention headquarters of Jiangmen City decided to upgrade the wind prevention emergency response from level IV to level III at 22:00 on July 18th.
