The World Heritage List adds 26 new "members".

The 47th session of the World Heritage Committee recently concluded in Paris, France. UNESCO announced on the 17th that this session decided to include 26 cultural and natural heritage sites in the World Heritage List, bringing the total number of sites on the list to 1248. According to the announcement, the Committee also approved the expansion of two existing World Heritage sites to create transboundary natural parks. Four cultural and natural heritage sites in Africa were added to the list, bringing the total number of World Heritage sites in Africa to 112.
