The implementation capacity enhancement activity of the Port State Measures Agreement was held in Shanghai.

In order to effectively promote the implementation of the Port State Measures Agreement and enhance China's regulatory and enforcement capabilities as a port State in combating illegal fishing activities, the first capacity-building activity of the Agreement was held in Shanghai from July 15 to 17. Business leaders from the fisheries administration, maritime affairs, customs, and immigration departments of 11 coastal provinces participated in the event. Manuel Barange, Assistant Director-General and Director of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Department of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and relevant officials from the Fisheries Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs also attended the event.
