Since the beginning of summer this year, many countries in the Northern Hemisphere have been hit by extreme heat waves. Zheng Zhaojun, chief of the International User Service Center of the National Satellite Meteorological Center, stated that the high temperatures this summer are occurring against the backdrop of a large amount of greenhouse gas emissions and a continuous rise in global temperatures. The direct cause of the extreme heat is anomalies in atmospheric circulation.
