According to the Securities Times app, on July 18th, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao stated at a press conference that despite the ups and downs, China and the United States remain important economic and trade partners. Since 2018, the United States has been showing unilateralism and protectionism, continuously provoking economic and trade frictions, seriously impacting and disturbing normal economic and trade cooperation between China and the United States. Although the share of trade between China and the United States has decreased, overall bilateral trade remains stable. By 2024, the volume of goods trade and service trade between China and the United States will reach $688.3 billion and $155.8 billion respectively, representing an increase of 18% and 34.7% compared to 2017. The fact proves that China-US economic and trade cooperation has a solid economic foundation and public support, and artificial "decoupling" is not feasible.
