On July 18, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao stated at a press conference of the State Council Information Office that a large scale of goods and services trade to some extent signifies strength. Wang Wentao pointed out that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, China's status as a trading giant has been consolidated. The "large" scale is reflected in the continuous leap of goods trade surpassing $5 trillion and $6 trillion. By 2024, the total volume of goods trade has increased by 32.4% compared to the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan," maintaining the global first place for eight consecutive years. At the same time, in terms of service trade, by 2024, China's service trade has exceeded $1 trillion, ranking second in the world. "The 'bigness' in foreign trade actually represents scale advantage and a complete system advantage," Wang Wentao said, so to some extent, "big" is "strong."
