American video streaming giant Netflix said on Thursday that the company used generative artificial intelligence to create visual effects, which appeared for the first time in its Argentine science fiction series "Eternal Voyager." Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said, "The completion speed of this visual effects sequence is 10 times faster than traditional visual effects tools and workflows," This is the first GenAI-generated final shot to appear on a Netflix original series or movie screen. He praised artificial intelligence as "an incredible opportunity to help creators make movies and TV shows better, not just cheaper."
