Report: American Special Forces veterans lead bid to acquire cobalt mines in Congo.

According to informed sources, an American consortium is seeking to acquire a cobalt and copper producer, Chemaf Resources Ltd., which owns a cobalt mine in the Congo. The consortium includes military personnel who have served in the US special forces. Orion Resource Partners and Virtus Minerals are in negotiations to acquire Chemaf. Chemaf's investors include the European commodities trading company Trafigura Group.
