Chongqing: By 2027, it is expected to initially establish a leading new energy vehicle power battery recycling and utilization industry base in the western region.

The Economic and Information Commission of Chongqing Municipality has issued the "Chongqing Municipality Plan for Cultivating the Industry of Recycling and Utilization of New Energy Vehicle Power Batteries." The plan mentions that by 2027, the industrial system for the recycling and utilization of power batteries will be basically sound in the city, the industrial ecology will continue to optimize, and an industry base for the recycling and utilization of new energy vehicle power batteries leading in the western region will be initially established. The coverage rate of the recycling network of power batteries for new energy vehicles in counties and districts will reach 90%; a number of recycling and utilization enterprises that meet the requirements of the "Industry Standards for the Comprehensive Utilization of Waste Power Batteries for New Energy Vehicles" will be cultivated, and two or more recycling and utilization industrial bases for development will be established; the recycling and utilization rate of lithium, cobalt, nickel, manganese, and other metal resources will continue to increase, and breakthroughs will be made in the fine extraction of waste power battery component materials and valuable metals, and key common technologies such as intelligent and fine disassembly of power batteries and wet process recycling of all components will be widely applied.
