General Motors and battery recycling company Redwood Materials have signed a memorandum of understanding to accelerate the deployment of energy storage systems.

On July 16th, General Motors signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding with battery recycling company Redwood Materials, aimed at accelerating the deployment of energy storage systems. These systems will utilize new batteries manufactured by General Motors in the United States, as well as second-hand battery packs from its electric vehicles. Both parties expect to announce more details of their plans later this year.
