Reporters learned from the Municipal Economic and Information Bureau and the Municipal New Economy Committee that on July 16, Chengdu's total electricity load reached a new historical high, with a peak of 22.01 million kilowatts at 13:11 during the day and a peak of 22.13 million kilowatts at 21:26 in the evening. Currently, the city's power grid operation is stable and orderly. Since the beginning of this year, the Chengdu Meteorological Station has issued multiple red alerts for high temperatures. In recent days, the highest temperature in some areas of the city has exceeded 40C, leading to a continuous increase in electricity demand for air conditioning among residents. The power department is currently working tirelessly to strengthen the maintenance of power equipment, carry out live line work, and be on standby 24 hours a day for emergency repairs, ensuring the electricity supply for the production and daily life of the entire society. A strong power grid is the basis for coping with high temperatures and heavy loads. Since the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Chengdu has put more than 100 large and medium-sized infrastructure projects into operation. By June of this year, the safe load-carrying capacity of the power grid has increased to 23.1 million kilowatts, providing strong support for the city's economic development and people's livelihoods.
