Walmart to cut hundreds of store support positions.

The media cited a memorandum reporting that the American retail giant, Walmart, is cutting hundreds of support positions for stores, in its latest move to streamline its structure. The report indicated that Walmart is cutting the position of Market Coordinators who provide support for some managers. These Coordinators are seen as positions that assist Market Managers, with each Market Manager overseeing about a dozen store managers. The report stated that the company will also cut some training positions at the Walmart Academy, which is responsible for training store employees and managers. Market Coordinators and Academy training positions will be guaranteed to work at the local store level.
