The 3rd China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo opened in Beijing, China on July 16th. The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, together with representatives from the global business community in attendance, issued the Beijing Initiative. The initiative proposes to maintain the security and stability of global industrial and supply chains. The global business community is urged to firmly uphold the multilateral trading system, maintain the stability and smooth operation of global industrial and supply chains, and safeguard an open and cooperative international environment. It calls for the practice of true multilateralism, efforts to promote an open and inclusive concept, firm support for a rules-based multilateral trading system with the World Trade Organization as its cornerstone, and the promotion of global industrial chain and supply chain security. The initiative aims to create a fair, open, and predictable market environment, promote global division of labor cooperation, and push for the dismantling of barriers that hinder the flow of trade, investment, technology, and services. It seeks to maintain a global free trade system, avoid politicizing economic issues, prevent artificial barriers to the global market, and cooperatively build more equal, inclusive, and constructive industrial and supply chain partner relationships.
