The number of securities practitioners has sharply decreased by 25,000 in the past two and a half years, while analysts and investment advisors have grown against the trend.

Performance is soaring, sectors are rising, and the securities industry is ushering in a turning point. As of July 16th, 31 out of 49 listed securities companies have released semi-annual performance forecasts/reports. Data from Choice shows that all 31 listed securities companies have made profits, with more than 10 of them reporting a year-on-year increase in attributable net profit of over 100% for the first half of the year. However, despite the industry's prosperity, the number of securities practitioners continues to decline. According to Choice data, the net number of securities practitioners decreased by 7,268 in the first half of this year. Looking back, the number of securities practitioners peaked at 354,200 in 2022 and has been rapidly declining since then. As of the first half of this year, the number of securities practitioners is 329,100, a decrease of 25,000 over the past two and a half years, averaging about 10,000 fewer people per year.
