Due to concerns from investors about US tariffs raising inflation, the cost of credit default protection priced in euros has slightly increased. The US June consumer price index data released this week shows that price pressures are increasing. Economists at Deutsche Bank stated in a report, "The market has always found it difficult to move away from the discussion of 'how much inflation will the US tariff policy trigger.'" Data from S&P Global Market Intelligence shows that the iTraxx Europe Crossover index, which tracks credit default swaps on high-yield eurozone bonds, rose by 2 basis points to 285 basis points.
