Against the backdrop of the escalating global AI competition, a large Japanese internet company has started requiring all employees to use generative AI in their work. This includes asking AI first when doing investigations and searches, not starting documents from scratch but outlining them first using AI, and having all meeting notes completed by AI, and so on. The goal is to double work efficiency within three years and stimulate the company's innovation. This mandatory requirement has attracted attention in Japanese society. Both the proportion of Japanese companies and individuals using generative AI is significantly lower than countries where AI development is faster. Data shows that the proportion of surveyed Japanese companies using generative AI is about 50%, which is much lower compared to over 80% in China and the United States. So far, Japan has been relatively weak in the field of AI. Recently, Japanese companies have begun to aggressively invest in the future AI race.
