Shanghai: By 2027, the scale of the ship and ocean engineering equipment industry on Changxing Island will exceed 120 billion yuan.

The General Office of the People's Government of Shanghai Municipality issued the "Implementation Plan for Building a World-Class Modern Shipbuilding Base on Changxing Island in Shanghai." The plan states that by 2027, the scale of the ship and marine engineering equipment industry on Changxing Island will exceed 120 billion yuan, with the proportion of high-tech ship types such as LNG transport ships and dual-fuel container ships reaching 80%. It aims to build a world-class cluster of shipbuilding and marine engineering equipment advanced manufacturing, create a world-class high-end equipment manufacturing hub, lead the global high-tech shipbuilding research and development capabilities, significantly enhance the research and development capabilities of LNG transport ships, cruise ships, and possess the ability to construct more than 15 mainstream ship types. It also aims to build a world-class core technology innovation hub, with advanced technology innovation and industry standards leading to the international first-class level.
