The SFC (Securities and Futures Commission) of Hong Kong issued a statement prohibiting Tang Haoran, the former head of Hui Fu Asset Management, from re-entering the industry for nine years, from July 16, 2025 to July 15, 2034. Tang was also fined HK $350,000. The SFC's investigation found that during Tang's tenure, Hui Fu failed to consider the best interests of a fund managed by him when entering into loan and share lending agreements three times, and did not properly manage conflicts of interest. As a result, the fund suffered a significant financial loss of HK $25.6 million, equivalent to 86% of its net asset value.
