The People's Court Case Database is an authoritative and unified case retrieval platform established by the Supreme People's Court, which collects guiding cases issued by the Supreme People's Court and reference cases that the Supreme People's Court has audited and deemed to have exemplary value for similar cases. On February 27, 2024, the People's Court Case Database was officially launched and opened to the public, with the initial collection of 3,711 cases. Since then, the mechanism for selecting cases has been continuously improved, the standards for writing cases have been further standardized, the quality of cases included in the database has been continuously improved, the quantity has steadily increased, and the structure has been increasingly optimized. Today, it was reported by the Supreme People's Court that as of July 15, 2025, the number of cases included in the database has reached 5,040, achieving "full coverage" of common charges and frequent causes of action.
