The Beiyun River Wood Factory Ship Lock Project has recently met the conditions for navigation.
Reporters learned from the Tianjin Municipal Water Affairs Bureau that the key project for the protection and management of the Beiyun River in Tianjin, the Beiyun River Muc Factory Ship Lock Project, has recently met the conditions for navigation. The total investment of the project is 161 million yuan. By building a new ship lock and navigation channel on the right bank of the Muc Factory Lock at the junction of the Beiyun River and Hebei Province, the project will achieve connectivity and interoperability in the Beiyun River section of Hebei Province, laying the foundation for comprehensive navigation of the Beiyun River in the future. It will also play an important role in promoting the protection, inheritance, and utilization of the Grand Canal culture and the coordinated high-quality development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The Beiyun River is 238 kilometers long, spanning three provinces and municipalities in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. It is an important part of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, with the Beiyun River section in Tianjin mainly concentrated in the Wuqing District.
