Recently, the 2024 annual statistical report released by China Clearing showed that there were 12.74 million new investors added throughout the year, with 12.72 million of them being natural persons. The total number of investors at the end of 2024 was 237 million, an increase of 5.69% from the previous year. In addition, according to the data released by the Shanghai Stock Exchange for the first half of this year, it can be inferred that the number of A-share investors has exceeded 240 million by the end of June. Securities professionals stated, "The growth in the number of investors is also related to market trends, which is another important influencing factor." In the first half of 2015, there was a significant market increase, leading to over 20 million new investors that year, the highest number in nearly a decade. In the second half of 2024, the market performance was strong, resulting in 12.74 million new investors, significantly more than in 2023. Regarding the future market performance, China International Capital Corporation stated in early July that the current market environment and atmosphere resemble the end of 2014 to some extent, including trends such as investors accumulating profits in Hong Kong stocks, small and micro cap stocks, and industry sectors, as well as a slight rebound in new product offerings; non-financial sector profit expectations nearing a bottom, improving investor patience, and confidence still needing to recover. The market currently lacks a catalyst, which could potentially come from an external environment exceeding expectations or new changes in the technology industry.
