On July 15th, US President Trump announced that after a phone call with the President of Indonesia, he finalized an important agreement with the country. As part of the agreement, Indonesia has committed to purchasing $15 billion worth of US energy products, $4.5 billion worth of agricultural products, and 50 Boeing airplanes, many of which are the 777 model. This is the first time in history that our ranchers, farmers, and fishermen will have full access to the Indonesian market. Additionally, Indonesia will pay a 19% tariff on all goods exported to the US, while goods exported from the US to Indonesia will be exempt from all tariffs and non-tariff barriers. If the goods are transshipped from a country with high tariffs, the original country's tariff will be added to the tariff paid by Indonesia.
