Google will invest $25 billion in the United States in the next two years to build data centers and AI infrastructure.
Google announced on Tuesday that it will invest $25 billion in multiple states covered by the largest electric grid in the United States over the next two years for the construction of data centers and artificial intelligence infrastructure. Google also said it will spend $3 billion to modernize two hydroelectric plants in Pennsylvania to meet the growing power needs in the region in the data center and artificial intelligence fields. Google's investment in the region comes as the PJM Interconnection struggles to keep up with the increasing power demand in the data center and industrial sectors. PJM is the largest electric grid in the United States, covering 13 states in the Mid-Atlantic region as well as parts of the Midwest and South, including the world's largest data center market located in Northern Virginia.
