The new national standard for power banks is coming. The safety technical specifications for power banks are expected to be upgraded.
During this period, power banks have become a hot topic. In order to enhance the quality and safety level of power banks, relevant national departments have begun to formulate stricter mandatory national standards for mobile power sources. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, opinions are currently being solicited on the revision plan for the "Mobile Power Safety Technical Specification," and the mandatory national standard to be formulated will set more stringent technical standards for mobile power sources, including power banks. The new national standard will increase or enhance test requirements for overcharging, puncture, squeezing, thermal abuse, and other factors on top of the existing safety technical specifications for lithium batteries in mobile power sources. The new standard will also consider requirements for the key production process technology of power banks, lithium-ion batteries, battery packs, and key materials affecting battery safety, as well as evaluate the safety of mobile power sources after aging use.
