Many places are experiencing record-breaking heat.

According to the China Meteorological Administration, the current widespread heat wave has entered its strongest period, with temperatures exceeding 40C in many areas, and many places are expected to break heat records. Local maximum temperatures in Shaanxi, Henan, Hubei, and other areas will approach or exceed historical records for this time of year. In major cities, Zhengzhou and Chongqing will have temperatures of 40C or higher on the 15th, while Hangzhou may reach 38C on the 16th, setting a new high for the year. Nighttime temperatures in many areas are also significantly higher than usual, with Xi'an, Zhengzhou, Chongqing, and Wuhan expecting nighttime lows of around 30C on the 15th.
