According to several American media reports recently, in order to avoid the tariff policies of the Trump administration, Delta Airlines in the United States dismantled the new Airbus A321neo aircraft purchased by the company in Europe, and transported the American-made engines removed from the new aircraft back to the United States to be installed on the company's old aircraft. Even American media commented that the so-called tariff policies to protect American businesses have caused unexpected troubles for American companies, but Delta Airlines has come up with a very clever solution to solve the supply problem the company faced. According to the tariff policies of the Trump administration, currently, aircraft manufactured in Europe and imported into the United States are subject to a 10% tariff. However, the engines removed were manufactured by Pratt & Whitney in the United States, so no tariff is required to transport them back from Europe to the United States. Once back in the United States, these new engines will be installed on the old aircraft that were grounded due to engine problems.
