National Bureau of Statistics: Domestic demand is the driving force of economic growth in the first half of the year.
On July 15th, Sheng Laiyun, deputy director of the National Bureau of Statistics, introduced at a press conference that in the first half of the year, final consumption expenditure, capital formation, and net exports contributed 52%, 16.8%, and 31.2% to the economy, respectively. Looking at the second quarter, the contribution rates of final consumption expenditure, capital formation, and net exports to the economy were 52.3%, 24.7%, and 23% respectively. Sheng Laiyun said that from the above data, it can be seen that in the first half of the year, domestic demand, especially consumption, is the driving force behind economic growth.
