The new Meta Superintelligence Lab, led by Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer Alexandr Wang, is considering a significant adjustment to its open source strategy. Internal discussions have explored abandoning the underperforming open model "Behemoth" in favor of developing closed models. Although Meta has always been promoting open artificial intelligence development, this marks a possible shift in its ideology. A final decision has not been made yet, but this move could reshape Meta's competitiveness in the AI race. The lab has now been renamed "Meta Superintelligence Lab" and includes members from Wang's previous Scale AI team, working directly with Mark Zuckerberg.
