On June 4th, the restaurant chain Yunhai Xiao was brought to court for the 2024 ByteDance collective food poisoning case, specifically charged with violating food sales regulations and contravening environmental public health regulations. On July 30th of last year, a collective food poisoning incident occurred at the ByteDance Singapore office, where many employees felt unwell after eating Chinese-style buffet lunch in the cafeteria. Multiple people experienced gastrointestinal discomfort, with some employees vomiting in the office, "even vomiting until collapsing and unable to get up." The Singapore Civil Defence Force dispatched a collective disinfection vehicle and used 17 ambulances to transport the patients to the hospital. Later that night on July 31st, the Singapore Food Agency and Ministry of Health issued a statement, indicating that many people at the ByteDance Singapore office at 1 Raffles Quay had developed gastrointestinal inflammation symptoms after consuming food provided by Yunhai Xiao and Putian.
