The 2025 China Chongqing Automotive Forum will be held on June 6-7. At the opening ceremony, Chen Jian, a special expert recruited from the Talent Pool of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, delivered a speech. He pointed out that there are still several issues in the current automotive industry: insufficient innovation in core technology, weak independent research and development capabilities, but the development of new energy vehicles is refreshing; the industrial concentration is not high enough, there are backward production capacities; there are contradictions between transportation, environmental protection, and energy development, and pain points still exist in automobile production, sales, services, and other links; how to ensure fairness in industrial development policies, cannot rely solely on subsidies. In addition, he also mentioned the topic of "internal competition", believing that this is harmful to the industry. "We must not engage in internal competition, we must work together for common development," he said.
