Amazon is laying off more employees, this time in the book department.
Amazon announced on Thursday local time that the company has cut jobs in its book division, including the Goodreads review website and the Kindle department. The Seattle-based retailer said that less than 100 employees were affected, and that the move was aimed at improving efficiency and streamlining operations. An Amazon spokesperson said in a statement, "As part of our ongoing work to increase team and project operational effectiveness, and to better align with our business roadmap, we made a difficult decision to eliminate a small number of positions within the book organization."
