Today, Citigroup formally announced that as part of its global simplification efforts, it will streamline its global technology solution centers, including reducing approximately 3500 technical staff at Citigroup Financial Information Services (China) Limited in Shanghai and Dalian. It is understood that this adjustment will not affect Citibank (China) Co., Ltd. ("Citibank China"). Citibank China will continue to steadfastly serve domestic and international enterprises and institutional clients in China (including local enterprises and subsidiaries of international enterprises in China) to meet their cross-border banking needs. Citigroup also stated that the group will continue to seek to establish wholly-owned securities and futures companies in China.
