According to the Wise Finance APP, a series of long-term sovereign bond auctions around the world have met with cold reception, leading to investors questioning the sustainability of government financing plans in countries such as the US and Japan. On Thursday, Japan's 30-year government bond auction became the third in three weeks to be met with buyer indifference, with one demand indicator reaching its lowest level since 2023. On Tuesday, demand for Australia's 12-year government bond auction fell to the weakest level in about six years; while on Wednesday, investor subscription for South Korea's 30-year government bond auction after the election also dropped to the lowest level since 2022.
