French spirits group Rmy Cointreau abandoned its sales growth target for 2030 on Wednesday, citing tariffs, ongoing slowdown in US sales, and high uncertainty that could disrupt its plans for next year and beyond. The producer of Rmy Martin cognac and Cointreau liqueur has been struggling with tariffs and declining sales in the US and other key markets. The company also reported that annual organic operating profit fell by 30.5%, less than expected. Rmy Cointreau said in a statement that due to uncertainty, weak US sales recovery, and tariffs affecting its cognac sales, the 2030 target is no longer realistic, and in a worst-case scenario, operating profit for 2025/26 could decrease by over ten percentage points. Rmy Cointreau believes that the conditions necessary to maintain the 2029-2030 targets are no longer present. The company predicts that sales in the 2025/26 fiscal year will return to mid-single-digit growth, but this is largely due to a softer comparison base with the sharp decline in the 2024/25 fiscal year.
