On June 3, local time, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) announced that a UN convoy carrying humanitarian aid was attacked in the town of Koma in North Darfur, West Sudan on the night of June 2. Preliminary reports indicate that the attack resulted in casualties. UNICEF stated that the convoy was carrying aid supplies collected by UNICEF and the World Food Programme, and was planning to travel to the capital of North Darfur, El Fasher, at the time of the attack.
