Starting from June 1st, wind power, photovoltaic and other new energy power will enter a new stage of market-oriented pricing. In February of this year, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration jointly issued the "Notice on Deepening the Reform of Market-oriented Pricing of New Energy Internet Electricity Prices to Promote the High-Quality Development of New Energy." The notice proposes to promote the comprehensive entry of new energy projects' internet electricity into the power market, form prices through market transactions, and establish a supporting sustainable development price settlement mechanism. According to the "new and old division" arrangement specified by the two departments, existing and incremental projects are classified and implemented, with June 1, 2025 as the dividing point. Existing projects that have been put into operation before this date will achieve price settlement by price differentials to ensure proper connection of electricity prices with current policies, with the mechanism price being implemented according to current price policies, not exceeding the local coal-electric benchmark price. Subsequently operated incremental projects will be the first to achieve the comprehensive entry of internet electricity into the market. This means that the revenue of existing projects will be relatively stable, while new projects will not enjoy the protection of fixed electricity prices after entering the market.
